Fine Art Yearbook: Master Document Setup

Having been on placement at The Consult and Elmwood over easter (the others on placements/visits also), it's fair to say the group and I have been a little off the pace over the past week and a half in regards to progressing with the yearbook.

However (after a quick phonecall with Tim), I took it upon myself to set up the master document of the yearbook this evening in order to allocate spreads and make sure that once everyone was working on the publication we were all working from a document that was correct, coherent and consistent.

What the above consisted of was as follows:

01. Setting up all revised grid specifications*
02. Styling paragraphs for headings, body copy, info text and captions
03. Styling page numbering systems on master page setup
04. Placing each students name and details onto their allocated spread
05. Laying out introduction and contents page

...in essence, making sure everything was just so.

Overall, this took a little longer than I expected and it was quite a tedious job.

At the end of the day however, somebody had to do it and with my OCD approach to layout and organisation I'm quite glad that it was me.

*new document setup specifications below:

Grid Specification

Margins

10mm - Top
10mm - Bottom
14mm - Inside
10mm - Outside

03mm - Bleed

Columns and Modules

Body Copy

7.5pt on 13.5pt Courier New Regular

Headers

These revisions were made to allow for handling of the publication around the outside and to make sure that we didn't lose any images to the bind.
