Fine Art Yearbook: Layout Development 05

After a weekend full of End of Year Show promotion, today was again judgment day in terms of ploughing through the updates required as per our last meeting with the Fine Art Committee.

To be concise, amendments as follows:

01. Introduction text finally set
02. All feature spreads swapped out as requested
03. Lucy Fudge image rotated (student request)
04. Small image removed on Jane Kenington spread
05. Michael Ormerod spread amended with new image
06. Bobby West spread amended with new images
07. Touring info text finally set

Still to do:

01. Finalise page numbering system
02. Finalise covers

The team and I are definitely on the home straight now! All of today's modifications went to plan and have only contributed to making the book more successful than it already was... very few weak looking spreads on the whole in terms of content.

I would still like a new image from Nicolas Tighe as before, but it has been discussed that this image reflects his work as he is all about producing digital video sequences. Rough with the smooth I guess.

I also personally feel that Lucy Fudge's spread looked more coherent prior to this change, but the student has been very assertive in voicing their opinion and we have to honour that.

  1. Are you referring to the image of mine that you had the wrong way round on my page? I think that when 'coherency' is of great concern, it is more important for the artist to have their work documented in keeping with what the work actually looks like or is, not what looks better on a piece of paper.
